Since I was a little girl it has been a recurring theme throughout my life: these furry little things they call bunnies. Favorite book: Home for a Bunny. Favorite stuffed animal: pink bunny named bunny. We also had a rabbit growing up, which may be where my fascination started. I must admit that my somewhat shortlived bunny ownership as an adult wasn't quite what I had expected. They are so cute and soft, especially when you have held them and played them since the day they were born. It is a tragedy what happens once they are bigger than the palm of your hand...THEY BECOME CRAZY!!! They acquire what I like to call bodily tourettes syndrome. They may spastically flail around at any given moment while in your arms, causing great bodily harm as they subsequently scrape the skin off your arms during their grand escape. They forget that you feed them and pet them every day and suddenly feel that you are going to spontaneously eat them for dinner so they must flee for their lives. Despite their unstable mental activity they are still one of the cutest animals. You just want them to be as nice and friendly as they look. And they don't play well with others either, or maybe that's Riley? Alright, I know that was sort of morbidly funny, but I couldn't help it.
On to the real reason I started this post.
It should come as no surprise that when I decided to crochet cute baby toys about a week ago I decided on a bunny for my first endeavor. It has had it's up and downs, and it wasn't until my 20th hour or so crocheting that I realized I was reading my patterns wrong . This explained why my bunny looked like it had a shrunken head. After realizing this I then had to redo the parts I had already done. After countless hours and a little frustration with my stupid leg pattern I finally have a completed bunny.
I think I will call her...Bunny Foo Foo. Fits perfectly don't you think.
Poor little Bunny Foo Foo. Her head is more square than bulbous, like it should be. One leg is shorter than the other, as well as one of her ears. Her eyes are a little scary, kind of like endless black holes. But her mouth is cute, and of my own design since the way they did it in the book just didn't work for me. This is only the beginning. At least now I know that I can do it. Now I get to make the really fun stuff. Here she is sitting like a proper lady.
My favorite part is her little microphone arms. I was trying them out at mom's yesterday, and they are quite perfect. Perhaps I will have to make a larger black and gray version so I can actually have a microphone. Maybe I will have to have a caraoke night in honor of having such a cool microphone. I will have to post pictures of that too. Goodnight to all. Tomorrow if it is nice, I can take some pictures of my shed progress to share with everyone.
I think she is super cute and it doesn't matter if one leg is longer than the other.
